The Wyrd Sisters

Victoria Fringe Festival, Summer 2015

Directed by Alannah Bloch

The Wyrd Sisters was a reimagining of Shakespeare’s plays through the perspectives of the powerful female & non-binary characters in them, including Ariel, Puck and the titular Wyrd Sisters. I was brought on to work directly with the choreographer to write 8 original pieces of dance music. These fused environmental cues with dance music; in particular we worked to make the actors cast audio magic between the sound design and choreo by tuning cues & the songs to actor’s movements.

Scene Two, Atmosphere

Scene Three, Voice Over

Scene Nine, Voice Overs

As part of the process for this piece, I wrote an album of original dance music. Working with the choreographer, I wrote pieces that reflected the mood and blocking goals of the scenes, working in found sound elements that would emphasize the environmental settings of the plays
